The U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt am Main is the largest U.S. consular post and one of the largest diplomatic missions in the world. Due in large part to Frankfurt's international airport - the Consulate plays a key role in the supply chain for and provides a wide array of services and support to over 100 other US missions around the world. The Consulate is also a major regional conference and training center for staff from other embassies and consulates, and it provides consular-services support functions for the region.

The Human Resources Assistant (HRA) for Family Member Employment (FME) manages and coordinates the duties and responsibilities for all aspects of the Family Member Employment Program for Consulate Frankfurt. Incumbent performs a full range of human resource responsibilities in areas of staffing, recruitment, employee benefits, compensation, performance evaluations, security clearance tracking, employee relations, and out-processing. The HRA is responsible for all aspects of Family Member Employment including Family Member Appointments (FM1 ), Expanded Professional Associates Program (EPAP), Foreign Service Family Reserve Corps Program (FSFRC), Cons lar Affairs Appointment Eligible Family Member Program (CA-AEFM), and Personal Services Agreements (PSA). Supports Consulate Dusseldorf and Munich in regards to all FME questions and concerns. The HRA reports directly to the Family Member Employment (FME) Coordinator.

Education: Completion of secondary school and two years of college in general course work is required.

Experience: 

At least three (3) years work experience in human resources, personnel, operations, administration, management, office management, program management or international relations is required.

Language: 

English Level IV (fluent) written/speaking/reading and German Level III (good working knowledge) written/speaking/reading is required. (this may be tested)

Knowledge:

  • Good working knowledge of pertinent HR regulations and procedures, a general overall knowledge of the organization, and functions of various agencies at post.
  • Must have knowledge of general office operations and procedural requirements pertaining to functions performed in an administrative office.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be highly computer literate and knowledgeable in the Microsoft Office applications suite including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Must have good presentation skills and understand social media platforms.
  • Must be highly organized and able to prioritize with minimum or no direct supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills, judgement, tact, and ability to maintain
    personal and professional confidence.
  • Ability to meet exacting deadline in a high-pressured environment.
